$25,000 injury liability for one person in an accident, $40,000 for all injury liabilities
in any single accident, and $15,000 for property damage in an accident.
Important Laws Specific to Texas Auto Insurance
1. Texas law states that motorists must show proof of financial responsibility by obtaining the minimum coverage of
auto liability insurance.
2. Texas law requires motorists to keep a copy of proof of their financial responsibility (current auto insurance card or
current Texas auto insurance policy) in their vehicles and be prepared to produce it upon request to law enforcement officers.
Non-Compliance:
Penalties for violating your financial responsibility according to Texas laws is severe:
- First Conviction: $175 to $350 fine
- Subsequent Convictions: $350 to $1,000 fine, driver's license suspension, and impoundment of your automobile
Optional Texas Auto Insurance
Texas auto insurance companies must offer Uninsured Motorist / Underinsured Motorist coverage. However, you can decline this coverage if you
stipulate this in writing.

If you immediately report a hit-an-run accident against your vehicle to the police, your Uninsured Motorist and Underinsured Motorist insurance will pay for damages up to the amount covered in your Texas auto insurance policy.
